So, don’t go chasing chicken nuggets?
8%ers, it’s Monday and not only was yesterday Johnny Depp's birthday, but it was also National Children's Day! And before we go any further, we’re talking humans here, not your pooch. We think every day should be children’s day, so we’re dedicating this week’s edition to our little ones. Get ready for:

The Importance of Introducing New Foods
We love our kids more than anything in the world, that is until they have a piece of broccoli in front of them. Then the battle begins. Mealtime can feel like an uphill struggle, and sometimes you’re just too tired to insist. So, you don’t give them broccoli. Next dinnertime, you serve chicken nuggets. They’re happy, you’re happy, and you get a little peace and quiet after a long day. But if this trend continues, your children might end up not eating any veggies or fruits at all. Sounds crazy, right? But get this: ⅓ of children don’t eat a daily fruit, and almost half don’t have a vegetable every day. Yikes!
Check out this astonishing figure but the CDC below:

There’s significant variability state by state, says the CDC. Who’s leading the pack? Vermont, where 70% of kids have a vegetable daily. And the worst? Louisiana, with just 36% eating their daily veggies. This is bad, really bad. Not only are we what we eat (a good reason to eat well), but the food we eat in early life shapes our habits for the rest of our lives. If we feed our kids chicken nuggets, Lunchables, sweets, and pizza, should we be surprised that they prefer the same stuff when they’re older?

We Present to You the Food Pyramid!
Remember the good old food pyramid from elementary school? This handy tool is great for two things– visualizing how much of your diet each food group should take up and how many servings of each group are needed to maintain proper nutrition. The key is variety (same with minerals by the way)! Make sure your child is getting at least one fruit and one veggie a day—these are minimums people so aim a tad higher than this. Also, note that oils at the very top of the food pyramid don’t refer to all oils. It refers to unhealthy oils (palm oil, cough, cough). Our favorite alternative oils are avocado and olive oil due to their impeccable nutritive properties. This way you steer clear of that unhealthy glop on the top of the pyramid. It is vital that your child gets all of the nutrients and minerals they need, which sets the perfect stage for OmniBlue Ocean Minerals, packing an unmatched 70+ naturally occurring minerals that helps fully meet your body’s mineral needs. Quick reminder that our new product is on sale until the end of the month, so get yours before they go!
Hopefully within a few weeks, and perhaps a reread of this newsletter, you can successfully introduce a varied diet to your little clones. Stay tuned for next week’s edition where we go deep into
You didn’t actually think we would just spoil the plot right then and there, right? Anyways, stay healthy and we’ll see you next week!
