INGREDIENTS (1 Serving): 

  • 2 slices of whole grain bread.
  • 30 grams of fresh basil
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  • ½ tomato cut into slices.

INSTRUCTIONS: 

  1. Heat a skillet or pan over medium heat and drizzle in 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, letting it warm until shimmering.
  2. Place both slices of bread in the pan and toast them until they turn golden brown and crisp on one side.
  3. Flip both slices, then top one of the slices toasted with slices of cheddar. Continue cooking until the cheese begins to melt and turn gooey.
  4. Layer fresh tomato slices and aromatic basil leaves on top of the melted cheese for a burst of flavor.
  5. Carefully close the sandwich by placing the other slice of bread on top, toasted side in, and press down lightly. Flip the sandwich and cook until both sides are perfectly golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
